Merouane Kherbache after Khouribga: patience made the difference
At his press conference after the 2-1 win over Olympique Khouribga, the IZK coach praised his players’ patience, highlighted the club’s young players and restated his two-stage project.
Merouane Kherbache described a game of two halves, with very different first and second periods. Against a Khouribga side that relied on counter-attacks and a compact defensive block, IZK wanted to keep their style of play despite the lack of space. The goal they conceded came, in his view, from an individual error.
For the coach, the highlight of the evening was his group’s patience. He stressed the psychological side: stay calm, keep playing, and the chances came. He also praised the club’s young players, who took their chance when it came.
He went back over the project he presented when he arrived: first build a competitive team, then gradually bring through players developed at the club. He ended by sending a message to the IZK players.
